My wife and I purchased a home in Montclair, NJ last week (June 2015). We were referred to Tracy Nix by a Sotheby's broker that had previously shown us a few homes in New York. Actually, one Saturday in February, we happened to be in Montclair, and saw a "for sale" sign on a home that we really wanted to see. Our New York broker connected us with Tracy, and we were in the home with Tracy as our representative within a couple of hours! This was just the first of many examples of how attentive and responsive Tracy would be throughout our process.

Neither my wife nor I are from the tri-state area. We'd never heard of Montclair before finding ourselves on Park Street sitting outside the house we wanted to view that day in February. Upon our first meeting, Tracy sat with us in the Sotheby's office and introduced us to the town. She pulled out a map and informed us about the different sections of town, the major thru-streets, the school magnet system, and the various transportation options for our commute. She also educated us about the unusal real estate process that is prevalent for competitive bids in Montclair.

Speaking of the Montclair bid process, I don't think we would have been able to withstand the stress of the competitive process without Tracy calming and coaching us through. We put bids in on 5 different homes during our Montclair search. While the pressure is high to put "your best foot forward" in these competitive scenarios, Tracy patiently coached us to do our own evaluation of each property and make the best offer that we felt comfortable making. One thing that I most appreciated about Tracy's guidance during this time was that she never pressured us to bid more than we felt comfortable bidding for a property. She was patient with us and went on the bid journey with us through 4 other properties until we found the right property for the right price in #5.

She helped us negoatiate the relevant aspects of the deal, and we ended up with a price and terms that we were pleased with. Once we were in contract, Tracy was incredibly helpful in providing recommendations for all kinds of home services in the Montclair area. She was also very flexible in scheduling access and meeting a few of our contractors / inspectors at the property prior to close. After the papers were signed and the closing was complete, it was clear that Tracy was genuinely happy for us.
